News from Takka Takka...

February 2008

NEWS 02.06.2008: Our second album is nearly finished. It has been mixed and now awaits mastering. Here are some facts about the record:

1. There are twelve tracks. Some song titles include Silence, Everybody Say, The Takers and Homebreaker... there are other titles, too. This is the first Takka Takka recording to feature our current lineup - Gabe Levine on vox, gtrs and keys and pads, Rene Planchon on gtrs, Drew Thurlow on gtrs, Grady Jurrens on bass and Conrad Doucette on drums and percussion.

2. The album was produced by Sean Greenhalgh. Basic tracks were again recorded by Charles Burst at the Seaside Lounge in Brooklyn, NY. Overdubs were recorded at our rehearsal space in Brooklyn, and also at Seaside Lounge.

3. Additional players on the record include: Olga Bell (Bell) on piano, Charles Burst on piano, Bryan Devendorf (The National) on percussion, Sean Greenhalgh (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah) on percussion and countless other moments, and Lee Sargent (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah) on keyboards.

4. The album will be released in the late spring on Ernest Jenning Record Company.

5. There is no title yet.

6. By the beginning of March we should have a new song or two for your listening pleasure on our MySpace and our Facebook page (go there and become a fan, if you'd like).

Thank you, hopefully see you soon.
